Make sure you've always got plenty of fresh ice on hand with the Avantco Ice KMC-F-422-LA 22" air cooled modular full cube ice machine with bin! Capable of producing up to 399 lb. of full cube ice per day, you'll always have plenty of ice to serve on demand at your restaurant, bar, or cafe. An included ice bin holds up to an impressive 383 lb. of ice, making it ideal for busy establishments that can not afford long periods of down-time while ice is being made. The ice bin features a durable metallic alloy exterior with a polyethylene interior. Also included is an ice scoop, a scoop holder ledge just inside the door where the ice scoop leans, and a hook to hang it on for easy storage. For ease of maintenance, a built-in diagnostic system will identify problems that your ice machine may be having and will display the issue on the digital controller so it can be repaired accordingly. This easy-to-use controller can also be used to monitor the current stage of ice production that your machine is in. It allows you to adjust the bridge thickness up or down to maximize your harvest into individual cubes of ice, rather than full sheets. It also initiates the cleaning cycle and displays what stage of the cycle you're in. Plus, the ice bin has a 3/4 FTP drain fitting. The ice machine is constructed of durable metallic alloy with a polyethylene interior to last in the busiest of commercial environments. A nickel plated evaporator and removable air filter make for quick and simple cleaning and maintenance. With (4) 6" adjustable legs, you can level your machine on uneven surfaces and have plenty of room to clean under it. This ice machine also comes with pre-drilled holes on the back of the unit to mount your OceanLoch+ water filter to the machine to ensure you are serving the cleanest and freshest ice possible. Designed for side-breathing and rear exhaust, you can avoid hot air being blown outward into your kitchen or service area. This unit requires a 115V electrical connection for operation. Avantco: How to Clean Stainless Steel Ice Machines

Here’s some tips for how to clean the stainless steel on your Avantco ice machine. Only use soft cloths, microfiber, sponges, or plastic scouring pads to avoid scratching the surface. Clean with the polish lines by wiping parallel to the grain. 

Use the right cleaning chemicals, such as alkaline, alkaline chlorinated, or non-chloride chemicals. Noble Chemical offers Excel, a water-based aerosol cleaner and polish that won’t attract dirt, making it ideal for commercial kitchen equipment. 

Clean and disinfect the stainless steel on your ice machine using a sanitizer, like Noble’s QuikSan, which is a ready-to-use sanitizer that won't damage stainless steel. 

You’ll want to minimize the impact of hard water. Do not let hard water stand on your stainless steel surfaces for extended periods. By following these tips you’ll make sure your stainless steel is clean and shiny.

How to Clean an Avantco Modular Ice Machine

First, turn on the ice maker and push the “clean” button for three seconds. This will start the cleaning process.  
 
Noble Chemical offers Arctic ice machine cleaners and QuikSan sanitizers for all your cleaning and sanitizing needs.  
 
Mix a solution of cleaner and water according to your ice machine cleaner instructions. Put the proper amount of cleaning solution into the water trough.  
 
Push the “clean” button. The ice machine will auto-clean for about fifteen minutes.  
 
Spray the evaporator with the cleaning solution to ensure a complete clean.  
 
When finished, the LED display will flash “Clean”.  
 
Mix a solution of sanitizer and water according to your ice machine sanitizer instructions. Next, put the proper amount of sanitization solution manually into the water trough.  
 
Push the “clean” button again.  
 
The ice maker will auto-sanitize for about fifteen minutes.  
 
Spray the evaporator with the sanitizing solution to ensure complete sanitation.  
 
The ice machine will go into the rinsing process. This process will take about five minutes and will do five rinsing cycles.  
 
When finished, the unit will begin making ice. 

Throw away the next batch of ice in case of residual cleaner.  
 
Remove all ice from the ice bin.  
 
After that, remove the four screws from the top and bottom of the ice machine’s front panel. Then, remove the panel.  
 
To automatically drain the water tank, press and hold the "clean" button for 3 seconds.  
 
Press the “clean” button after “CLE” flashes on the display. If necessary, press and hold the “down” button to force drainage.  
 
Next, make sure that the power supply is unplugged.  
 
Remove the water curtain and remove the two screws that are securing the spray pipe. Then, remove the two screws that are securing the water pump.  
 
Pull out the pump and the sensor wiring harness.  
 
Next, pull out the inlet water pipe and the hose hoop off the upper water pipe, and then remove the fixed screws that are in the spray pipe, and pull apart the pipe.  
 
Now, mix a solution of cleaner and water according to your ice machine cleaner instructions.  
 
Spray or soak the pulled-out parts. Next, spray the cleaning solution into the evaporator, and wipe it until it's clean. 
 
Finally, rinse all areas thoroughly with clean water.   
 
Mix a solution of sanitizer and water according to your ice machine sanitizer instructions.  
 
Spray or soak the pulled-out parts. 
 
Next, spray the sanitizer solution into the evaporator with a spray bottle.   
 
Also spray the water tank, ice plate and its plastic parts, side plates, ice bin and other sanitary areas with the solution.  
 
Allow the pulled-out parts to dry. Then, install them back to their original position.  

The cleaning and sanitation process is now complete.

Avantco Ice features modular and undercounter styles, making both half and full dice ice. This line also includes an undercounter model that creates the trendy bullet ice for a different look in your ice beverages. Blue LED lights illuminate the interior of the machine, providing a clear view of the ice inside the bin. This makes it easier to monitor ice levels and scoop out the ice.
